What are the requirements for a state inspection in Texas?

As part of our test, a certified inspector will carefully check the following components to ensure they meet Texas State vehicle standards:

Does my vehicle need an emissions inspection?

If your vehicle is between 2 through 24 years old and your vehicle is registered in an emission county, you are required to take the emissions test to receive your registration sticker.

Counties requiring emission tests are;

Brazoria, Collin, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, El Paso, Fort Bend, Galveston, Harris, Johnson, Kaufman, Montgomery, Parker, Rockwall, Tarrant, Travis, and Williamson.

How long are inspections good for in Texas?

Vehicle inspections in Texas are valid for one year. Motorists are required to renew their registration 90 days before expiration.
